The Royal Inn is on the North Somerset Tidal Trail and the England Coast Path.
Portishead Marina is just round the corner and is a pleasant area to stroll round.
There is an Art Trail centred around The Marina.
Along the estuary (within walking distance) is the Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve.
If you fancy badminton or pickleball Phil's gym membership includes this at the Parish Wharf Leisure Centre.
For a swim try Portishead Open Air Pool (it's heated!). You can book up to a week in advance (some sessions get booked up).
If you're still here on Saturday night there is an outdoor showing of Wicked at the outdoor pool (best to book in advance).
Tyntesfield (National Trust) is about 5 miles from Portishead and worth a visit.
If you venture into Bristol there is currently a Gromit sculpture trail (Aardman is based in Bristol).
